31 Standard Roadster Top Hardware

Rebuilding a set of top irons for my 31 Standard Roadster (Canadian Built).
1. Does anybody supply chrome wing nuts that attach the front bow to the rest of the assembly? They are smaller than the wing nuts that are used on the windshield posts and are drilled and threaded all the way through.
2. What is the proper way to fasten the front brackets, that go over the windshield posts, to the top bow. Some catalogs say they are riveted on but the bottom hole is countersunk as if to take a flat head screw and the 2 lateral holes are actually slots (for adjustment?). Do they take carriage bolts like the brackets on my 27 T touring?
As usual, any help is appreciated.

1. The wingnuts that I have seen, have been painted black. They would be very easy to duplicate using a stanchion wingnut and facing the top off. I have seen none of the parts houses stocking this item.
2. You are correct in your assumptions regarding attaching the clamps. flat headed Robertson, and two coach bolts 1 1/4 x 1/4 Nut is 1/2 inch

Thanks Bick. Great info so I can move forward as planned. I do have the original wingnuts that are brass and in decent shape so I think I will just refinish those. Are coach bolts the same as what we call carriage bolts? Domed head with a square "shank" under the head.

Hello the bolts you described, I have known them as carriage bolts , rounded head with the square meant to keep it from turning. I have seen them used in really old horse wagons so been around for awhile.
