Getting loada matic rebuilt Long story short I had my distributor out yesterday and noticed the springs beat up. I took a better looking set from another distributor but I was wondering if anyone can recommend someone who can calibrate the advance curve on a loadamatic.
Also when replacing a water pump make sure that distributor wire does not get caught between the block and pump or you'll fry your Pertronix unit. |
Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt Contact Charlie NY on here, I'll bet he can help you.

Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt Speaking of loadomatic distributors, My brother sent me one that has dual points with the condenser on the outside of the case. Is this a marine or military application ? It looks stock complete with part numbers although I don't have them on me at this time. Any thoughts? Tim

Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt There was a kit to do the conversion.

Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt It's probably a Mallory dual point conversion, They made them for a lot of different applications (they still show up on eBay from time to time). One of these was the first piece of "speed equipment" I bought, back in 1959.
It's a good thing they came with a "trash can" condenser to mount on the outside of the distributor; it was the only indication that "something special" was goin' on. |
Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt Thanks, Tubman and Flatjack9. If it is a reasonable distributor I will probably run it just because he found it in a scrap yard back in the day(when we were kids) snooping through the piles of junk. Tim

Re: Getting loada matic rebuilt If Charlieny can't help you, try Lou Sumas 440-439-5628. I don't know if he works on the load-matics, but he does do the 57 and later.
