1925 vs 1927 T
 

Trying to get different opinions about which year is best to buy? I wonder which one is best for a newb. I like the idea of a '25 because it reminds me of what a T should look like - all black. I also like the idea of a '27 because it is the last year of T's. Which has more room in a Tudor style? Which is easier to maintain?

The body on a 26-27 T is all steel and the doors fit better. The 1925 body is wood frame work with tin nailed to it, over the years the wood goes bad and things no longer fit as well. Buying the right car can save you a lot of time & money. Be sure you buy the car you like. Bob

1925 2 doors were metal construction with wood only being used for top, attachment point for interior and floor boards. The rest of the 1925 body styles were wood frame construction.

When the new body styles were introduced in late 1925 (1926 models) the only body style to continue with wood frame construction was the 4 door. The wood frame construction continued into the Model A era on the 4 door and a few other body styles.

As far as maintenance goes, all Model T's require about the same amount. Cars made after 1915, will be easier to find parts for being more common.
The two illustrations above are both 1927/27 style 2 doors. Except for hood, fenders/running boards and cowl the 1925 look very much the same and would have the same amount of room inside.

For parts, there are a number of suppliers.

Model T's require frequent maintenance, they are not really just a jump in and drive type car. Requiring regular oil changes and lubrication etc. Model T's don't have oil filters so depending the condition of engine/transmission that could be every 500 miles or once a year or more often as needed.
