Re: V8 6o Help That appears to be a Simca baby V8, maybe from the 50's. Lots of V8 60 goodies
work on these. I'd offer $500 and cross my fingers. There are varying amounts of foreign content which adds to the challenge but it's cool. Charlie ny |
Re: V8 6o Help I agree with Charlie, not your regular early Ford '37-'40, USA version of the 60hp V-8 engine.

Re: V8 6o Help I forgot to add that the heads are Aluminum....If that has any effect or detraction....not sure if the picture portrays that!!!

Re: V8 6o Help To me - it isn't worth almost anything, unless you have a use for it. It is hard to sell V8-60 stuff . . . and this is a Simca, so probably even harder. Now - if you want to rebuild and run it (given that it does have some differences), go for it!

Re: V8 6o Help It was offer in trade in lue of cash, I have no use for it, no vehicle need so sounds as if I'll just take my cash and hit the highway!!!

Re: V8 6o Help Probably a '58 - '60 based upon the intake manifold. That was also when the majority that were sold in the USA were sold. Parts are very difficult to obtain and are quite expensive. Some V8-60 speed parts will fit but not all. I have a copy of an engine workshop manual and an intake manifold and much greater flow carb still kicking around. I would not recommend giving more that $750 for it unless you know a lot about it due to the cost of parts. If you end up buying it and don't keep it, I would offer you that much for it. I am here in Jax, so if I can help let me know.
