Hey people look what I did to myself

Not Model A related unless you count the fact I won't be driving for awhile:( Long story short I was trying to get down a rocky bank to photograph a small water fall. Well the only thing that fell was me:o I ended up with a broken ankle, badly brused the bottom of my other foot. I also fell on my back(why it didn't break is beyond me) and ended up with numerous cuts.

Lesson learned here is when you are 60 years old you are 60 not 20:rolleyes:
I will add this experiance to the not to do bucket list.

What sucks is I have some new stuff to put on the A and I might be done for the summer. I thought summer was going fast but I didn't think it would end this soon.

Dusty,
What a bummer, Pain ain't fun! For me at 76, I have to be extra careful not to bung myself up. I only shoot pics from the car with my loooooong ZOOM lens. Bill W.

Hey Dusty, I was just down in Kingwood last week with my pickup. I wish I had known how close I was to you, I would have stopped in to say hi. Beautiful country down there. Hope you have a fast recovery, Ed Saniewski.

This thread should be removed from Fordbarn. This forum should be about the Model A Ford.

Dusty-I am not offended by it. In fact, I think it doesn't hurt a thing to hear these sorts of things once in a while from regular Model A guys. It is somewhat related as you have to have a good strong clutch foot to drive a stock Model A...seems like our friend Dusty will have some R&R to do before he is speed-shifting that old A.

Agreed! Plus we're all getting up in years and we need to be reminded now and then. I'm 68 and I spent yesterday buttoning up the bottomside of my coupe and then reflecting on "What the hell am I doing? Most guys at 68 won't put air in their tires and I'm crawling around underneath. Last june (2011), I picked up the entire rear of my T.S. ,minus the wheels and that's all it was minus. Threw my back out , Baaad! My Dr wanted to operate. I said no and found an acupuncturist/chiropractor and with weeks of therapy, I feel much better. The point is, we're not 20 or 30 or even 40 anymore. I need a lot of reminding!

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, only worse. Shattered the heel bone, installed artificial bone, plates, screws, etc, got infected, almost lost foot, 18 yrs ago, still have some trouble walking. Out of work 8 1/2 months. Good luck to you. Everything seems to take longer to heal the older we get.

Dusty .................
Get the heck out of West Virginia and move to Florida. There are no steep creek banks (maybe 6"), no rocks (just sand) and no waterfalls, but you just might step on an alligator.

Re: Hey people look what I did to myself

I wish there was a 'general BS' section on Fordbarn where we could talk about ANYTHING (friendly) with our friends without the occasional person with their nose up in the air commenting on how you can ONLY talk about whatever car on the forum.

Of course I don't know exactly how Ryan or other people who are actually the backbone for the forum feel about it, but I don't recall any complaints about it.

Just a dream of mine... :(
