Barn Finds still exist

Wow am I lucky. Found this 4 dr or town sedan this weekend in the Nashville area. It was put into this lean too shed open in the front, 8 years ago. It was purchased by a remote family member in Florida in 1986 and they intended to fix up, but never drove it. It was rolled into this shed in 2004.

I pulled all four plugs and poured in oil then actually was able to turn over the engine surprisingly easily.

I need to check numbers and I am not that familiar with determining if this is a four door or a town sedan. Not sure how old the upholstery is, but wierd how it has all faded to this consistent green color.

I will pick it up in the next few weeks and bring back to Georgia.

Based on the middle arm rest and the dome light location I say Town sedan.

That interior is interesting. Through the window picture it looks blue but once the doors opened it looks green.

There was a dark green interior option on the Town Sedans.

Mine was green mohair. Nice find if the wood is good!

1930 Town Sedans had green Mohair and the 1931 Town Sedans had tan mohair

All straight windshield Town Sedans had the option of green mohair. However it was a fairly neutral dark brownish green.

This looks to be green velour circa 1960's. However it appears the headliner MAY be the original "green" napped cotton.

Looks like fun!

My vote is for a Town Sedan too. I have a 1931 with an older replacement interior that's not as nice this one. Congratulations.

The LB interiors of the 70s and 80s were notorious under UV degradation for color shifts due to polymer (plastics) based dyes and/or polymers used in the fabric itself. I have seen them turn pink, yellow, gold...incredibly unstable. I did not know of the Ford green interior but the head liner does look original. Also look at the firewall and the door jambs which appear to have not been painted the restorer's maroon...is it black or blue or perhaps original Ford Maroon? I agree, you should have fun with a substantially original Town Sedan, not a Fordor. Quiet the find.
