1939 Ford Wheels:

Are the wheels for 36-39 the same? Does anyone have a good set of wheels for a 39 that are for sale?Preferably in North Carolina area.

This is probably a dumb question but does anyone know why some centers are rivited in and others spot welded? And yes, they all interchange.

Yes there is a difference in the WHEEL WITH,,, the cars with the V-8 , 60 engine are not a wide ie " 3.1/2 inch wide "as the V-8, 85's are 4 inch wide at the tire bead area. Something to look out for when buying wheels, the bolt pattern, is the same, what we call "wide five".... OLD...BILL
p.s. I have two of the 3-1/2 wide for sale? in Kalifornia,

A lot of the wheels are date coded, although some I have found have no date code that is legible. Do you need 4 or do you need 5? The swap meet that used to be in Maggie Valley is coming up in a couple of weeks in Fletcher, NC...exit 40 off of I-26 at the Agricultural Center. Setup day is July 1...the meet itself runs Friday through Sunday.

Are the '37-'39, 3-1/2" wide,, wide 5 bolt pattern wheels for 60 hp vehicles really that rare/valuable? I have seen them advertised lately at $200.00 to $300.00 per pair. I always thought the '40, 3-1/2" wide, 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, for 60 hp vehicles where the ones that were most wanted and the most valuable. I also have a beautiful original set of wide 5, 3-1/2" wide. wheels that came off a '37 60hp coupe. JM
