Two Pickup Questions
 

My 1930 pickup arrived today. Two questions: is the manual wiper standard on the commercial cars? The tailgate...the chain attaches to tailgate and the side of the bed....is the tailgate held in place by friction?

There is a tab in the tailgate that the chain hook goes thru. The chain is permenently attached to the bed end. Look in the Model A judging guide.

If you have an early 30 with 29 style cab than I think the manual wiper
is correct, if you have the later 30 cab then it should have a vacuum wiper.

For whatever reason, my 31PU had a manual wiper on it when I bought it. I have no idea whether or not it got that way when it was restored 20 years ago, or it was always that way. So far I've left it that way.
