Re: tea pot carbs

i've been running 2x4 tea pots for many years on a 312 with no problems. Please take the time to educate your self on these carbs. They were never great but worked very well if you know the basice. Old saying, you have to be ten percent smarter that the equipment your working on. If you need more help please contact me. maybe i can help. Frank

If you're going to replace a teapot with a 4GC Rochester (or Carter WCFB), be sure to get one from an old enough car that it has the small bolt pattern like a teapot. Later Rochesters and Carters have a large bolt pattern that won't fit your Ford.

If you feel that you really must replace your tea-pots with GM carbs, then take your time and look at all the GM carbs real good. There is one division that uses a four bbl carb that can be easily modified to open on demand, not just if you stomp on it and the linkage tells it to open. Two of these can be set up to open secondaries at same time, or at different times. Depends on what you want and your engines needs. Look at them and you should be able to see it easily.

I have rebuilt many of them over the years since 1956 and have had no problems with them. Not a Hi Performance carb but a very good stock carb. Bill S.
