60 hp. V8 Engine weight Can someone tell us what the 60 h.p. V8 engine weights?

Re: 60 hp. V8 Engine weight In June of 2010, someone responded that Ford listed the weight at 300 lbs. Yet another Google search says a engine ready to fire weighed in at around 220 lbs. (it had a lot of aluminum parts)
All I know is that I transported a bare 60 hp block to Michigan back in 1982, and when I arrived a single person lifted it out of the back of a 1981 Ford Escort station wagon. |

The 60HP I donated to the Archives Museum had the rare "commercial" transmissioin attached. Probably would not pull out the proverbial "greasy string" either. Just sayin'. |
Re: 60 hp. V8 Engine weight I drove a 60 for a while, to get the best fuel mileage had to keep it under 60, downshift to second as soon as it slowed to 40 on upgrades, over 60 the fuel mileage would go below 30 mpg, 26 mpg at 65-70, flat out it would go 74
The big truck probably spent a lot of time in lower gears |
