35 PU gas filler neck vs 35 sedan filler neck

Can someone post a picture of a 35 PU gas filler neck beside one for a passenger car? Overall lengths would help. Thanks

Lawson, will be interested in what you learn here. I have the same issue with my 35 PU as well. New tank from Yogi's. The fill pipe extension must have to be rubber and with a bend ?.

Lawson, the Drake catalog has a page devoted to filler pipes and shows all the car and pickup variations. The 35 car pipe is 14.75 inches and curves nearly straight up vs. 8.125" and inadequate for the 35-36 pickup. The 37 pickup is the same angle as the 35, but is 11.5" long.

Jackno, the 35-37 pickup pipes are threaded into a fitting that's part of the tank. You' need a later style filler pipe that connects with a hose. Drake shows something from a 37 car that may work.

How are these Yogi's fuel tanks? For you guys that have them, what do you do for fuel sender? I assume that the fuel gauge sending unit they sell does not work properly like Drakes.

Lawson-

I can't speak for others but don't get your hopes up with a Drake fuel neck. I have a '35 and a '36 and in both cases the Drake neck did not match an original in curvature. In fact they were non-reshapeable. If interested, I can forward to you several pictures with measurements. If you get a chance, look over this past posting:

Thanks Tom for referring back to a former thread that has the picture I was looking for. I was thinking of using a sedan neck on my pickup to keep gas from sloshing out on right turns. I think the sedan neck would work fine. Now to find one. :)

I presently have a neck on mine that I had bent to the angle I thought I needed, then cut the center of a PU filler neck and welded the fabricated piece in the center. Only the initiated can tell it isn't stock.

Have a 1935 1/2T pickup. Previous owner had a tank from something other than a 35. This filler neck was epoxy into the tank. Can anyone tell if it looks like an original 35 filler pipe ?

At first blush it does. If it has a vent tube inside it would be a 36
