1929 Closed Cab Pickup Colors 1 Attachment(s)
The question on Tudor colors got so many good replies from all of you that I thought I would ask for my truck. Currently it is bright yellow and, while it looks neat, it is certainly not orginal. I am trying to decide whether to repaint it or not. Does anyone have any pictures of closed cab 1929's in the correct color schemes? Do you know any sources for the right color paint?
Thanks a bunch for your help!! Bob |
Re: 1929 Closed Cab Pickup Colors I would paint the fenders/running boards gloss black and leave it alone. Everyone has Rock Moss Green so dare to be different!!

Re: 1929 Closed Cab Pickup Colors The two main colors used in 1929 for pickups were - Rock Moss Green - PPG 117 and Dupont L8621 and Black which is just black, even though there a several shades of black. The fenders, splash aprons, hood shelves and radiator splash pan were black on all model A's. If you are going to paint your truck, it would probably be wise to buy the Model A Ford Paint & Finishing Guide available at most model A part places. Don't get the cheaper Dupont paint book Model A places sell, it is not worth it.

Re: 1929 Closed Cab Pickup Colors Although mine is black/green - that yellow looks great, it's a real attention getter, even if it's not "correct". (My green is just a shade that appealed to me - a bit lighter than the original color)

Re: 1929 Closed Cab Pickup Colors Thanks to all for the replies.
Therupperts and TomW: Do you have any additional pictures you could either send me or post of your truck? I am looking for lots of pictures of a 1929 to see what areas of mine may not be correct. For example, one thing I noticed is your wheel hubs are different than mine. I am also especially interested in interior photos. Thnaks again. Bob |
