1950 f1 wiper arm Has anyone had any luck changing the wiper arm to a new style to accept new refills instead of buying 10 inch thru a catalog. THANKS

Re: 1950 f1 wiper arm I tried very hard to do the exact same thing. Looked everywhere. I even bought a universal short/adjustable wiper arm and one of those little adaptor kits that failed miserably. I finally just said to heck with it and ordered one of the ridiculously expensive ones from one of the catalog places. I would be very interested to see if you find a cheaper/modern alternative. Off the top of my head, the only guys that I know who have been successful with this are the ones who changed out the entire wiper mechanism with a modern electric-style one. I hope somebody comes along and proves me wrong here. In the meantime, good luck. Let us know what you find.

Re: 1950 f1 wiper arm I changed to a 2 speed electric motor, but it takes the same 10 " blade. You can buy 10", 11" blade at auto parts but you need different arms.

Re: 1950 f1 wiper arm Someone came up with an interesting idea on my 41 ,they cut the wiper arm towards the end and welded a newer style end on it. I'm not saying I'm happy with it because it ruined the original arms but I can use any of the new wipers now and the do work great.

Re: 1950 f1 wiper arm I took my old blade to the local Advance auto parts. They had a classic wiper selection. We matched my blade no problem.
