Foam in coolant - fixed (?) I bought a bottle of Steel Seal and followed the directions as if my problem was a blown head gasket. However each time I removed a spark plug and ran the engine, bubbles continued to come out.
Mystified as to where to turn, I quit for a while. A few days later I ran the engine again and no bubbles or foam. Could it be I had a crack in the block and the Steel Seal repaired it ? Any thoughts? Lee |
Re: Foam in coolant - fixed (?) Did you pull the head and look it over? Using a sealer to fix a blown headgasket is NOT a fix. It may temporarily help, but youll need to do it right if you actually plan on driving it.

Re: Foam in coolant - fixed (?) Perhaps you had leakage from several cylinders,
A long time ago I tried K&W block sealer on a engine with very bad head gasket--- when started with a full radiator and the cap off it would erupt like " old faithful ", tried several sessions with sealer then gave up, the car got parked, 6 months later I was looking for a used radiator cap, noticed radiator still full, started car and no more problems ,so yes sitting can "fix" the leak |
