What are the 1933 BB Panel Trucks worth?

I have a chance to buy a 1933 BB panel truck 131.5 inch wheel base. Its in pretty rough condition, but i've heard they are somewhat rare. Does anyone have any knowlege of these, such as value, and how many were produced, and how many are still out there, etc?

thanks for that , but this is a ton and half truck, so I wonder if the value is more or less thanks.

Less value but would be worth about the same if restored. The butchers like to cut up the 1/2 tons.

I would say that it is very rare but big trucks are not everyone's favorite. You will have trouble finding body parts if the ones on the truck are absent or in bad shape. LOTS of bodywork to be done!

I'd love to have one. Like what was said, hard to find body parts for the BB stuff. I'd assume it would be even harder to find stuff for a panel truck. I think there was one on eBay a little while ago that had something to do with the fire department, however they put windows in it which I really didn't like. It fetched a bit of money, nothing too much though.

"AA" truck cabs and "A" truck cabs are the same cab. I think this is true on the newer trucks too. They take more room to store and this makes them less desirable.

Re: What are the 1933 BB Panel Trucks worth?

What is a '33 Model 85 BB panel worth? I say worth saving! My view is that anybody with telephone and a credit card can build a cookie cutter by laying five catalogs on the table in front of him and starting to dial. It's not so easy when the project is unique. While I've focused my fixation with oddballs on the Marmon-Herrington variety, I've long had a closet lust for a BB panel. So far I've had the self discipline to not scratch the itch.

This below red '36 is probably the one mentioned that was on eBay. IIRC it didn't meet reserve. The sad '34 is sitting in a SD yard and has whispered in my ear on a few occasions. If you've not done so already, I'd suggest finding a copy of James K. Wagner's great book Ford Trucks Since 1905. It gives a lot of attention to the BB panels of the '30s and early '40s. If you're up to the challenge of finding donors, and having parts fabricated, please go for it. When it's done you'll have a one of a kind that will draw 10 times more attention at a show than any of the cookie cutters. Stu

Edit - If you want more BB pics to help push you over the edge I have several more! Stu

For '33 the 131.5" WB panel came as Standard or Deluxe. Cowl lights and shiny paint (woo hoo!) were what you got by popping for the Dlx. Fuel tank was 10 gal. or the optional 17 gal., and a passenger seat was available as were deluxe spoke wheels which were a limited time mid-year option. Ford built 795 Standards and 205 Deluxes, no breakdown as to V8 or 4 cylinder. My source does mention that all 301 of the 157" WB panels were built as 4 cyl's. Seems like that would be about like dragging two passenger sedans around with one stressed out engine!

Fordors, just wondering, do you have amount of production of 131.5 and 157 inch 1934's as well?

Re: What are the 1933 BB Panel Trucks worth?

No problem, jerrod, here you go- 2,095 Standards and 479 Deluxe Panels were built on the 131.5" chassis for '34 and 479 trucks on the 157". BTW, that larger fuel tank was a no cost option in both 1933 and '34.
And once again "The Commercial Fords" from Lorin Sorensen's Silverado Publishing gives no breakdown on V8/4cyl., the stats are combined.
