'18 or '26?

I'm looking at a near to me 1918 Model T Touring car that was cut down to make it into a truck. After looking at it more it appears to have a 1926 body, but fenders that are older. This might not be the best option for me for my first T. Maybe? It hasn't run in years. How does the T get it's legal registration year? The frame? Body? Engine? It might be fun as is as long as my OCD doesn't overdose on the slightly inaccurate body parts......

If it will be your first you can still learn a lot about how they work. If you can get it at a fair (low) price it will still be fun. Many cars during the depression got bastardized.

Perhaps you might post a photo of it after seeing it and someone here will identify the body year. Model T's were originally registered by engine number.

I could, but I've never figured out how to do that. :( If I get serious I could get someone's email address and send it to them and maybe they could do that for me? Sorry.

I think I got it! I may be more excited about finally learning how to post pictures than the car itself......lol

It's a small picture, but I'm calling it a win!

I tried to enlarge your photo to get a better look. It go so blurry I couldn't see anything I wanted to see.

It was downsized a bit too much but we can tell it's a T that's newer than the brass era.

" How does the T get it's legal registration year?" The title it comes with or what ever paper work required by your state to register it. Click on my name and send me an email. Once I get it I will reply and then you can send me the picture and will post for you.

Engines were changed too often so serial number on engine might only help.
