Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Has anyone bought lug nuts from them for 48 ford car. I can't seem to get hold of them. Do the threads start in a ways on the nuts or start at edge ? Thanks

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto I’ve bought some for my ‘41 at my local NAPA.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Yes, NAPA would be a good source.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Take an old one for a sample to Napa. These new counter guys don't have a clue when you ask for lug nuts for a '48 Ford.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto most Ford lug nuts right from the early days were 1/2 fine thread. I have a s**t load of these. Should be able to get them any where.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto I buy them at the local trailer supply. They have 5 gallon buckets full of 1/2-20 lug nuts

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto The lug nuts from third gen work fine. They are recessed like the original, but still require a bit more trial and error before the threads catch. Using a thread chasers on the nuts and studs speeds up the process.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Just what I was looking for at Third Gen Auto > Thanks for info will order right now.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Same experience as DavidG.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto Nuts that are threaded all the way thru will sometimes bottom out on the stud before the wheel is tight. I've run into that with cheap aftermarket stuff, its something to keep an eye on when mounting wheels.

Re: Lug nuts from Third Gen Auto The Ford nuts have a 13/16" hex, 1/2-20 thread and a 60º cone. There are lots of nuts around that don't have the hex size or cone angle right.
