1929 Sport Coupe belt rail.

I am installing new belt rail wood on my 29 sport coupe. Does it bolt directly to the car or should there be some kind of seal used between the wood and metal first?
Like that "Dum-Dum" stuff I read about here a few days ago or maybe a frame rail type of seal?

Re: 1929 Sport Coupe belt rail.

What I did on my 28 special coupe, which is virtually the same as a 28/29 sports coupe, was use friction tape as an anti-squeak material. I used contact cement to hold it in place before fastening the wood in place. 3M caulk strips would also work well I would think. I have used 3M caulk strips in other places and it works well to seal the joints (and probably eliminate potential squeaking).

Thanks Rusty, I will do the same thing on the header wood.
