This car is a true barn find! Recently discovered, this car has never been modified or hot rodded. Original drivetrain with the 21 stud flathead V8. This roadster is rough but fairly complete. The roadster cowl is in good shape (needs a small patch on both sides near the bottom-otherwise very nice) Complete dash with instruments. Roadster windshield and top frame. Roadster doors, rumble seat, etc. Working cowl vent. Xtra hood tops and sides. Very little missing-one headlight, one tail light, some rear sheet metal....This car obviously needs lots of work but when was the last time you heard of a 34 Roadster unearthed from a barn??
Lots of pics at this link....

Tis a pity that this roadster was not "found" sooner. It must have been in the creek, for a long time. Not too many useable parts here.

I beg to differ...it sure can get that bad. Many things about the Old South. The barn likely had a dirt floor...not good. Humdity in the South is horrible...like today! In the morning, if slightly cool, that car will get condensation and sweat. Some of the worst cars I've found (I'm in TN) have been in barns and lean-tos. They sweat and get wet every day. I don't doubt one bit it's been in a barn. Then add bird droppings, manure, fertilizer...doomed!

It's still a 34 roadster. I bet the frame is so scally it may be unuseable so you are buying a shell that for sure needs wood and a floor!

It must have been put away with the side curtains still on it. The body still has the, impossible to find, correct side curtain snaps, still in the sockets.
I have seen worse cars brought back. But, they were like "free" to to body man.

A little recap for you folks looking for an original 34 roadster. This roadster has NEVER been restored, NEVER been hot rodded...Ford roadster restorers are emailing me about what kind of original bolt the top frame has, the number of bracing on the back support, etc. It is THAT original. Okay all you naysayers, look close at all the new uploaded pics in the flickr album. I've uploaded about 100 new pictures. If this car was fully exposed out in the weather then would the genuine Henry Ford cardboard backing on the rumble seat or the fiberboard in the footwell/back of the firewall have stood the test of time?? Yep, it's rough but there is plenty of SOLID Henry Ford steel (aka unobtanium!) to work with. Okay, here's the particulars...

COWL: solid cowl, working vent, the metal is not thin at all, Roadster windshield frame and stanchions in good condition. All Henry parts including the windshield wiper motor, etc Look at the lip in the new pic...impossible to find Henry Ford roadster cowl. Look at the new pics of the inner cowl-original black Henry Ford fiberboard on the inner cowl behind the firewall. Look at the solid metal in the pic.. It will need a patch at the very bottom on both sides and part of the bracing (feet)
DASH:solid Henry metal roadster dash, working glovebox and ashtray, all instruments, steering wheel
Doors:real Henry Roadster doors...pretty solid-need some work on the bottom. All latches, locks, one door handle set, are solid.
Quarters:real Henry Roadster quarters-very workable. Need patch panels are the very bottom and on the edge right by the rumble lid

Top frame is solid, inner rumble lid workable, bumpers very good, cowl lights, xtra seat of hoods equal 1 good set, original rear rumble seat frame and carboard backing, original wheels, original grill (workable) drivetrain/rear all complete. Lots of other misc Henry Ford bits and brackets, etc. The frame has a good bit of rust-I would replace but I've seen photos/threads of similar or worse repaired.

I have yet to see another unrestored untouched 34 Roadster for sale...

Having seen other cars in this condition, I'm betting it was stored in an old chicken house( lot of growers in the area) even tho the house was not used for years, the chicken droppings are like acid and will eat metal up.

Okay, I hate to state the obvious but look at the pictures I took of the car-I have pictures of the pole barn where the car was found and where it has been for many many years. I have this car up on ebay with 1 day left on the auction. $8k buy it now and a lower reserve. You'll never find a cheaper 34 roadster...

Suggestion; Contact the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles.Their displays depict scenes back in time and this might fit their criteria.Since I feel that this car would be to costly to build the creation of a barn backdrop with this sitting in there would look great.A cheap prop for that type of museum.

A museum display! Great idea and saves all that patina. That seems like a perfect solution as to what to do with this particular car. Not worth the expense of restoring and would be probably 80+% different metal and parts, IMO.

Speedway motors has just such a scene on display in their museum.
Best I recall it is a desert scene.

I bet Bob Drake is salivating that some sucker buys this thing. I don't even want to think of the resto/rod cost. You're money ahead buying a working car. Too bad some jackass let this car go.------like many women, i know it was pretty once.
