Picked up a set of Echlin CS47 points and FA54 condensor -- Now made in Mexico. Anybody that's running them care to comment on how the quality compares to the old USA product?

Re: Picked up a set of Echlin CS47 points and FA54 condensor -- think they have been made there for a while. in 7 years i have not had a problem with any Echlin tune up parts (points, condenser, cap or rotor) i used. i replaced all thaose parts once a year as part of my preventative maintance program on the 50s cars i drove daily.. don

Re: Picked up a set of Echlin CS47 points and FA54 condensor -- I agree , the cs47s are good quality. Use plenty of lube ( i soak them in marvel oil, and clean off with brake clean before installation) makes them wear in better .....

Re: Picked up a set of Echlin CS47 points and FA54 condensor -- I bought a set of points Echlin, form Napa about 3 yr's ago. I installed the points on the plate, started to put the screw in for the point spring, no threads in either set of points. Brought them back to Napa, they got me new set next morning, took them out of the box, no threads in the hole, one set had little scratches like the hole was to big for the tap. I went to another parts store, bought Standard points they were perfect. Walt
