reverse eye spring

Hi, I am new to the forum. I am starting an A v8 roadster with a 59A flathead. I need a front28-34 reverse eye spring with 3/4" eyes to match spring perch. Model A has smaller shackle bushings. I can buy a new reversed main leaf with 3/4" eyes but I also have to buy a new standard spring to put it on. I do not want a Posie or easy slide spring.

Does anyone sell a complete reversed standard spring?
Thanks,John

You can do it yourself. Mark your spring on the garage floor with chalk. Then mark across the leaf at 2" intervals. Beat on those intervals with a BIG hammer and hit it until it is reversed and the same shape as your chalk mark on the floor. Another way is to use a bottle jack and press it into the reverse shape. A bit easier on the ears too. It takes a couple of hours to do, each hit or press will move it a little, so patience is required. I did mine, works fine.

I had a new main leaf made at truck spring shop. Cost about $60. Took old one and told them to make same arch but reverse eye.

If you go over to our sister site The HAMB you can search for many threads showing exactly how to do this. Not hard to do especialy if you have access to a press of some kind. But as stated you can do it with a dead blow and some blocks. Wear ear and eye protection.
The HAMB is also a great place for info on building an A-V8 trditional stlye car.
