Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion I see them on ebay sometimes. Not sure where to buy or if anyone makes repops. Red's Headers makes some nice headers for a good price.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion i have this one. http://www.shoeboxford.com/public/images/739.JPG
http://www.shoeboxford.com/public/images/space.gif Left Hand Dual Exhaust Manifold http://www.shoeboxford.com/public/images/pfriendly.gif These are brand new items being offered by Shoebox Ford. Made in the USA and have a heavier wall thickness than the original manifolds. These solve the problem that people run into trying to install headers. No grinding of the manifold or steering box. Comes with a block off plate for the passenger side manifold. Cost is $225 Call 800-732-6029 to order. We also offer a Right hand dual exhaust manifold as well for the same price. |

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion I bought my dual system from ARASCO about 10 years ago and it connected to the front of the LH manifold pipe and went up and over the steering box with a blockoff plate for the RH manifold. Mine was a 51 Fordor with automatic. Nice sounding duals. Everything fit fine.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion I have one of those left side original factory dual exhaust manifolds. Great shape. Would sell for $125 plus shipping.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion Try Waldrons. I bought a system from them using original manifolds.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion What about an 8RT (48-53) truck manifold? They were designed to have the crossover under the engine, so no front dumping manifold.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion Truck manifold dumps directly onto crossmember on a shoebox Ford. ..B.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion My '51 has this "quick and easy" left hand up and over pipe. It was there when I got the car. Sound is good and works well. If and when it fails (rusts out), I plan to get the left hand manifold pictured above.

Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion Hi Ken,
Yes that is the manifold that I repop. Hope all is well. Pat Rooney |
Re: 1950 ford dual exhaust conversion Jack,
I'm the guy that reproduces the manifold you see in the picture. Shoebox Ford is a dealer for me. I have produced these manifolds for quite a few years and recently I changed the tooling to produce a heavier wall so I could produce it in aluminum also. I also offer it with ceramic coating in either cast iron or aluminum for the guys that want to dress up their engine. These manifolds are a copy of what Douglas Foundry made for Ford for Police cars to give them increased horsepower. If you want any more information you can contact me at [email protected] Have a great weekend. |
